- Yes.
- The following text was typed over from the GVP manual.
-
- The RAM that should be used is 100ns (nanoseconds) or faster, page
- mode DRAM SIMMs. DRAM stands for Dynamic Random Acces Memory
- while SIMM stands for Single Inline Memory Module.SIMMS are used
- because of the ease of installation as well as the space they save.
- GVP uses 1Mx8 SIMMS. This means that there are 8 individual DRAM
- chips soldered to a small circuit board. These SIMMS can come in
- two different styles.
-
- SIMMS with an organisation of 1024x8.
- SIMMS with an organisation of 1024x9.
-
- These can NOT be mixed.
-
- My GVP has 2 MB on it and room for an additional 6.
- This is 16bit FastRAM, NOT 32bit FastRAM.
-
- The 2 SIMMS that are on my Controllor have only 3 chips on them.( NEC )
- But I'm not realy into that technical stuff.
-
- I hope no questions remain open.
