  15. The following text was typed over from the GVP manual.

  17. The RAM that should be used is 100ns (nanoseconds) or faster,page
  18. mode DRAM SIMMs. DRAM stands for Dynamic Random Acces Memory
  19. while SIMM stands for Single Inline Memory Module.SIMMS are used
  20. because of the ease of installation as well as the space they save.
  21. GVP uses 1Mx8 SIMMS. This means that there are 8 individual DRAM
  22. chips soldered to a small circuit board. These SIMMS can come in
  23. two different styles.

  25. SIMMS with an organisation of 1024x8.
  26. SIMMS with an organisation of 1024x9.

  28. These can NOT be mixed.

  30. My GVP has 2 MB on it and room for an additional 6.
  31. This is 16bit FastRAM, NOT 32bit FastRAM.

  33. The 2 SIMMS that are on my Controllor have only 3 chips on them.( NEC )
  34. But I'm not realy into that technical stuff.
